The width of the letter plate area is 254mm (overall width for full opening is 292mm).

Question:

I am wanting to replace the internal letter today flap of a uPVC front door to improve insulation. I presume this item can be used on a uPVC door provided the appropriate fittings are used? The aperture is smaller than the 254cm specified (it's an old house) but I presume this isn't likely to cause any issues?

Answer:

This can work with uPVC Doors but we would recommend contacting the manufacturers of the door to confirm if this product is compatible.

my letterbox opening is much smaller , can i place this just over mine without cutting it down and achieve the same success if it hadn't been cut down

Answer:

You could fit the letterbox over a smaller opening (providing your Door can allow for this), it would just mean the space to place letters / parcels would be smaller than usual as it the "hole" wouldn't be fully cut out.
