Hardwood exterior door boarded on both sides. 44mm thick with solid hardwood lippings and thick hardwood face veneer.

Traditional external front door design to suit a range of home styles
We recommend no more than 6mm is taken off each edge and the top and bottom of the door
Engineered construction for a more robust door, increased resistance to warping, twisting and bowing
2-3mm thick face veneers for greater resistance to weathering
15mm solid lippings which allow for rebating and trimming

NOT SUITABLE FOR EXPOSED LOCATIONS - engineered external doors must be protected from direct sun and rain. This is achieved by a porch, canopy or recess of ideally 1.5 metres. If this precaution is not observed the performance of the door will not be satisfactory and any guarantee will be surrendered. In addition to finishing and sealing as above please be aware of the following.

1) We recommend a minimum of 3 coats of a suitable finishing product be applied to fully seal a door or frame

2) We recommend the fitting (externally) of a weather bar at the bottom of the door

3) Try to avoid painting a door black (or very dark) as dark colours absorb heat making the product very hot which can lead to cracking or excessive shrinkage

4) With external oak doors please ensure that the sealant contains a UV protection element. WARNING �� If what you are applying is clear it will probably not contain UV protection. Check with your finishing supplier before purchasing

CONSTRUCTION: Engineered construction and are made from component parts that are aimed at improving the performance of the finished article.

TREATMENT AND STORAGE: The door must be stored dry and flat. The door must be treated prior to hanging. It is most important that top and bottom edges are fully treated before the door is hung. Both faces and all four edges as well as any "cut outs" and the end grain must be also fully treated.

TRIMMING: With a door lipping of 10mm, each side may be trimmed equally up to a maximum of 6mm
